Sinners and Saints
Welcome to the web home of the Sinners and Saints radio program.
Why the name "Sinners and Saints"?
Because we are at the same time both struggling sinners AND adopted, justified sons of God. Usually church people mess this up. On the one hand, they don't know or they try to deny how bad they really are (arrogance), and on the other hand, they have no clear knowledge and faith in the true gospel (self-righteousness).
Our show is sponsored by two local congregations of the United Reformed Churches in North America.
The label "Reformed" describes the basic teachings of the Protestant "reformers" in the 16th and 17th centuries, who sought to reform the "deformed" Roman Catholic Church from its serious heresies and errors. The so-called "Reformed" teachings are really just the Bible's clear, basic teachings, and they challenge many "churches" today like they did 400 years ago.
We are ministers in confessional Reformed churches, meaning we have sworn to uphold, teach, and defend the basic summary of God's Word found in our confessions, the four hundred year-old -Three Forms of Unity-. So if you want to know what we believe, look there. We are not free to come up with our own teachings, we are not free to impose our private opinions on God's people, and we are not free to be the mini-popes of our churches.
If you love Christ, if you love His Word as your only rule of faith and life, if you hate manmade religious tradition, if you are tired of man-centered worship and slick motivational speaking passing for preaching, if you want to grow in grace and in true love for God and your neighbor, if you are looking for a church that is more than a social club, we're glad you found us.
